  Where to Stand

Where a wicketkeeper stands is an important factor in his ability to take the bowl. A common fault is standing in 'no man's land', i.e. neither right up nor right back.

Spin Bowling

Always be in a position to stump the batsman who has left the crease.
Keep the stumps within reach in a single movement.
Never retreat to take the ball.
In case of stumping, concentrate on taking the ball before moving your hands towards the stumps.

Medium Pace/Fast Bowling

When standing back from the wicket it is necessary to take up your stance where you are able to see the ball.
The depth of your position will depend on the pace of the bowler. The ideal place to stand is where the flight of the ball is beginning to drop.
Stand slightly forward and two full arms length from first slip.
Keep eyes and body in direct line of the ball.

The Basic Stance

The basic stance is a comfortable squatting position with the weight on the balls of the feet.
  Heels off the ground.
Body right down with knees fully bent.
Position feet to get a good view of the delivery.
Feet comfortably, but not too wide apart to restrict movement.
The eyes are level and looking directly ahead.
The hands are together with the palms facing outwards, towards the bowler, and the backs of the gloves touching the ground.
