Run-up:
The function of the run-up is merely to enable a bowler to arrive at the crease balanced and with sufficient momentum to complete the bowling action successfully. The bowler with the speedier approach is not always the one who bowls the faster ball.

  Remember:
The length of the run-up will vary with the type of bowler (fast or slow), but should be long enough to establish rhythm and momentum through the delivery.
Too long a run-up can destroy rhythm and conversely too short a run-up will result in a stranied bowling action.
It is good practice to run-up at a slight angle (up to 150 ) to the wicket as this helps the bowler to move more easily into the correct sideways delivery position.
Control of length and direction is vital.
Keep sideways as long as possible.
Keep head still and think and look where you want the ball to pitch.

  The Basic Action:

    Left hand stretching up.
Head steady and looking full down wicket from behind left arm.
  Right hand near face.

    Right arm high.
  Left arm close to side.
  Weight now on left foot.

Left arm arm stretching well up.
  Left shoulder pointing at batsman.
Right arm beginning delivery swing, body slightly arched.
Right foot close behind and parallel to creaseStance
