Bowler's
Objective:
Every time he starts to bowl, the bowler should aim to get the wicket of the
batsman. Bowling is very different from batting in that it requires a
completely different mindset. A bowler can spend long periods of time on the
field, where he is not actually bowling.
Fundamentals
of good bowling action:
A
correct grip
A
smooth and economical run-up
An
easy, rhythimical and well balanced delivery, making full use of height and
body
A
deliberate and full follow through
Start
and finish action should be in a sideways position. |

While
Bowling Remember: |
Look
behind the high front arm at the batsman with the back slightly arched |
Lean
back, away from the batsman and then swing towards him |
Swing
the arms -- no jerking. |
The
ball should be held in the fingers and not in the palm of the hand. |
The
ball should hit ground before reaching his partner. |
